Workshop on Cleaning Agents for Medical Devices Invites Papers
This workshop will provide a forum for experts from across the industry to share their research and experience with cleaning agents, to identify gaps and opportunities for further standards development activities.

Papers are invited for ASTM International’s Workshop on Assessing Characteristics of Cleaning Agents Intended to Clean Medical Devices, to be held Nov. 11, 2025, in Atlanta, GA. The event is sponsored by ASTM International’s medical and surgical materials and devices committee (F04) and will be held in conjunction with the committee’s standards development meetings.
ASTM committee F04 is looking to build on the foundation of standard D8179 to provide recommended test methods and minimum requirements for cleaning agents intended for medical devices. This workshop will provide a forum for experts from across the industry to share their research and experience with cleaning agents, to identify gaps and opportunities for further standards development activities.
Topics for this workshop include:
To participate in the workshop, authors must submit a 250- to 300-word abstract to the workshop chairs, Alpa Patel (apatel@nelsonlabs.com), Kaumudi Kulkarni (kkulkarni@hmark.com), or Barbara Kanegsberg (barbara@bfksolutions.com) no later than May 31, 2025.
